Virginia Class submarines

Virginia Class submarine

Virginia class submarines are American nuclear powered hunter-killers (SSNs) which will supersede the Los Angeles class. The intermediate design of the Seawolf class was deemed too expensive and only 3 were built.
The Virginia class features a modular hull design do that future improvements in any one are may be 'inserted' into vessels built in the future without redesigning the class.
